I’m sure Hallmark had no intention of this picture being anything but cute. Unfortunately for me, it looks absolutely nothing like cute. It looks like a freaking crime scene:
The detective looked down at the sad little boy. “And Mr. Brown, what time exactly did you find Snoopy’s body? I was told this was around supper time?”
“Goodness, Sir, that’s a lot of blood.” Marcy added.
Another officer lead her away. “Please, young lady, the kid’s been through enough already.”
The detective gave the pair a quick look as they exited the room, then returned his attention to Charlie. “We’re currently checking on Lucy Van Pelt’s alibi. No one saw her at the Psychiatric Help Booth, today.” He looked squarely at young Charlie. “I hear there’s bad blood between the two. I believe that they had some kind of argument about dog germs?”
Charlie looked perplexed. “Well, I –”
A crime scene investigator entered. She was holding a tattered blanket, already tagged and bagged in protective plastic. “Detective? This was found in the dog’s house. it was lying on the floor next to the grand piano.” She held it up for the his inspection. “Check out this monogram in the corner.”
The detective’s brow furrowed. “LVP? This blanket wouldn’t belong to Linus Van Pelt, would it?”
Charlie swallowed hard, as his world seemed to come crashing down around him. “But Linus is my best friend.”
The detective motioned to a junior officer waiting in the corner. He then pulled his phone from his shirt pocket, “Mr. Brown, I’m going to have this officer escort you to your father’s barber shop. Your family is waiting for you there.” His attention turned to the phone. “Simms? I need an APB put out for the two eldest Van Pelt siblings. The girl seems prone to fits of rage, and the boy has addiction issues.” He looked at the initials once again, as a cold realization washed over him. “Looks like the dog stole his stash.”
(Dun Dun - Fade to opening credits)
Definitely Linus. Lucy is too obvious.
